Board Rules

1. Youre responsible for what you say.
As outlined in Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, The Chronicle of the Horse and its affiliates, as well Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd., the developers of vBulletin, are not legally responsible for statements made in the Forums.

This is a public forum viewed by a wide spectrum of people, so please be mindful of what you say and who might be reading itdetails of personal disputes may be better handled privately. While posters are legally responsible for their statements, the moderators may in their discretion remove or edit posts, though are not legally obligated to do so, regardless of content.

Users have the ability to modify or delete their own messages after posting. Moderators generally will not delete posts, threads or accounts unless they have been alerted and have determined that a post, thread or user has violated the Forums policies. Moderators do not regularly independently monitor the Forums for such violations.

Profanity, outright vulgarity, blatant personal insults or otherwise inappropriate statements will not be tolerated and will be dealt with at the discretion of the moderators.

Users may provide their positive or negative experiences with or opinions of companies, products, individuals, etc.; however, accounts involving allegations of criminal behavior against named individuals or companies MUST be first-hand accounts and may NOT be made anonymously.

If a situation has been reported upon by a reputable news source or addressed by law enforcement or the legal system it is open for discussion, but if an individual wants to make their own claims of criminal behavior against a named party in the course of that discussion, they too must identify themselves by first and last name and the account must be first-person.

Criminal allegations that do not satisfy these requirements, when brought to our attention, may be removed pending satisfaction of these criteria, and we reserve the right to err on the side of caution when making these determinations.

Credible threats of suicide will be reported to the police along with identifying user information at our disposal, in addition to referring the user to suicide helpline resources such as 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK.

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.
The forums are a wonderful source of information and support for members of the horse community. While its understandably tempting to share information or search for input on other topics upon which members might have a similar level of knowledge, members must maintain the focus on horses.

3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

4. No advertising in the discussion forums.
Posts in the discussion forums directly or indirectly advertising horses, jobs, items or services for sale or wanted will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Use of the private messaging feature or email addresses obtained through users profiles for unsolicited advertising is not permitted.

Company representatives may participate in discussions and answer questions about their products or services, or suggest their products on recent threads if they fulfill the criteria of a query. False "testimonials" provided by company affiliates posing as general consumers are not appropriate, and self-promotion of sales, ad campaigns, etc. through the discussion forums is not allowed.

Paid advertising is available on our classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.

Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:

Horses Only general discussion about the buying, leasing, selling and pricing of horses is permitted. If the post contains, or links to, the type of specific information typically found in a sales or wanted ad, and its related to a horse for sale, regardless of whos selling it, it doesnt belong in the discussion forums.

Stallions Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.

Services Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.

Products While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.

Event Announcements Members may post one notification of an upcoming event that may be of interest to fellow members, if the original poster does not benefit financially from the event. Such threads may not be bumped excessively. Premium members may post their own notices in the Event Announcements forum.

Charities/Rescues Announcements for charitable or fundraising events can only be made for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Special exceptions may be made, at the moderators discretion and direction, for board-related events or fundraising activities in extraordinary circumstances.

Occasional posts regarding horses available for adoption through IRS-registered horse rescue or placement programs are permitted in the appropriate forums, but these threads may be limited at the discretion of the moderators. Individuals may not advertise or make announcements for horses in need of rescue, placement or adoption unless the horse is available through a recognized rescue or placement agency or government-run entity or the thread fits the criteria for and is located in the Giveaways forum.

5. Do not post copyrighted photographs unless you have purchased that photo and have permission to do so.

6. Respect other members.
As members are often passionate about their beliefs and intentions can easily be misinterpreted in this type of environment, try to explore or resolve the inevitable disagreements that arise in the course of threads calmly and rationally.

If you see a post that you feel violates the rules of the board, please click the alert button (exclamation point inside of a triangle) in the bottom left corner of the post, which will alert ONLY the moderators to the post in question. They will then take whatever action, or no action, as deemed appropriate for the situation at their discretion. Do not air grievances regarding other posters or the moderators in the discussion forums.

Please be advised that adding another user to your Ignore list via your User Control Panel can be a useful tactic, which blocks posts and private messages by members whose commentary youd rather avoid reading.

7. We have the right to reproduce statements made in the forums.
The Chronicle of the Horse may copy, quote, link to or otherwise reproduce posts, or portions of posts, in print or online for advertising or editorial purposes, if attributed to their original authors, and by posting in this forum, you hereby grant to The Chronicle of the Horse a perpetual, non-exclusive license under copyright and other rights, to do so.

8. We reserve the right to enforce and amend the rules.
The moderators may delete, edit, move or close any post or thread at any time, or refrain from doing any of the foregoing, in their discretion, and may suspend or revoke a users membership privileges at any time to maintain adherence to the rules and the general spirit of the forum. These rules may be amended at any time to address the current needs of the board.

  • Flex Force HA 200mg from ebay?

Anyone use this? It's a tempting price, but I can't find any info on it? Is it from a reputable source? Effective? Thanks

I don't understand why CortaFlx doesn't list it as an available product on their website. Actually I can't find any FLex Force product back on their website.

It's tempting indeed, coz it would be comparable to Conquer. I'd love to try it, but how do we know for sure it's not the Flex Force HA 100mg with a bogus label .

I just tried to call them to ask whether the 200mg is indeed made by them, but got no answer. I've just sent them an email instead, if I get any feedback, I will post back here.

it appears to be the same product/branding as the 100mg sold here at valley vet:
      http://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.h...d-4b660a0e629c

I've bought from valley vet and the solution does help my older horse, as well as two older horses on the property where I board. I'm slowly turning everyone on to it.

eta: well Corta Flx does have this listed:
      http://www.corta-flx.com/pages/007product_HA_sol.html
which seems similar but its only 100mg and drastically different label, and not named "Flex Force"

I think I"m going to call CortaFlx..... I'm curious as heck

eta2: just got off the phone with CortaFlx. They are priming FlexForce to be a new independent spin off line of the CortaFlx products. The rep explained to me that FlexForceHA is just pure HA, where CortaFlx HA100 Solution is blend of some kind that is supposed to be more effective, more expensive too. This temporary cross branding appears to me to be a "soft-opening" to their new line, slowly getting the product to market with the name recognition of CortaFlx behind it. The rep told me they do indeed make a 200mg version in solution and pelleted, so it exists. Whether the ebay seller is legitimate is of course a whole different matter, but I'm inclined to think they are just based on feedback.

buck, so when she confirmed they make the 200mg solution, did she mention where we could buy it, other than the ebay listings? I currently use Flex Force HA 100mg and their liquid MSM - love their stuff. Before that I did use Cortaflx and really liked the results as well but same results with a lower price tag is always good.

no she didn't offer where to buy it, nor did I ask. The rep had a very faint voice and sounded like she was on a speaker phone, so I kept the questions short and simple so I could hear her clearly.

honestly though, they picked up on the second ring and the first rep I spoke to happily and intelligently answered my questions, so I'd have no qualms about calling them with questions. Nice customer service.

Hmmm, I emailed them this afternoon and linked the ebay website, and asked them about the product being manufactured by them, but I haven't received a reply yet.
I may try to call again tomorrow.

              I use FlexForce HA 200

I've been ordering the FlexForce HA 200 off of Ebay for about a year now. I'm assuming it's the same seller - I think there's only one that sells it. I've been happy with it. I had never used CortaFlx before this so I can't compare it to another source, but it seems to work for my horse. I started my horse on it after reading this very long thread http://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=170674. The seller ships promptly and packages well also.

This is the reply I got back from Cortaflex when I asked them about the ebay supplier of Flexforce 200mg.
Seems they are not familiar with it, I'll post more when I hear back.
Sounds to me they are not familiar with the 200mg Flexforce. Strange. I emailed this to info@cortaflex.com

We are a distributor for cortaflex and I am not sure the products we have are the equivalent of what you are now using but will look into and see. I would not want to recommend a change when your horses are doing so when on your current product.

well, thats.... weird. The rep I spoke to yesterday chatted comfortably about the flexforce cortaflx relationship. She even gave me the link to the future website, though there is nothing there yet: http://flexforceproducts.com/

strange. Do they have two offices? let me find the number I called....

this is the contact information I found and the number I called:
                  http://www.corta-flx.com/pages/contact_us.html

                  wait a second, there seems to be a cortaflex.com and a corta-flx.com

now thats confusing.... I called corta-flx

and hang on a sec, there are two slightly different contact infos for both:
                  http://www.corta-flx.com/pages/contact_us.html
                  http://www.cortaflex.com/info.html

hmmm, I wonder what this is all about? I never did *get* corporate cannibalism though it goes on a lot.

Not the same -- the 200 mg/oz is twice the strength. Here's the ebay link:
                    http://cgi.ebay.com/HA-200-Hyaluroni...item230d9e4fa5

I bought a case of this last year (not from this seller) and have been very pleased. I was using Lubrisyn and then Conquer and this is just a good but so much cheaper.

This is a highly rated ebay seller so I wouldn't be worried about ordering from her.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear, the same product but in a different strength is what I meant.

We're all trying to figure out the validity of a 200mg product at all. Its entirely possible that I could buy a whole batch of 100mg bottles, go to kinkos and make a 200mg label, and then sell them for $30 more per bottle and no one would be the wiser.

No one would normally question such a thing, but its very strange that there is no supporting literature to be found anywhere by the company that makes it.

Yes, I kind of figured that's what you meant. Sorry.

Anyway, I bought a case of this through a friend who is a distributor for Corta-Flx. This 200 mg/ounce version was on the company's order sheet, so I am sure it's a legitimate product.

Corta-Flx has never marketed this product directly as far as I know. I believe it is their marketing mission to confuse people.

ETA: If I recall correctly, the case was shipped to me directly from Corta-Flx company.

Oh cool! So then it is legit. The company at large is presenting itself rather strangely to the public.

                          Thank you!

When I reorder I might have to get the 200mg, seems much more economical. If your distributor friend would like my business I'd be happy to purchase through them.

Thanks again for clearing up the mystery!

Well, it seems like a viable option. I guess, worst case scenario (I think?), it is the 100mg version & I have to double it. I am opting to use Pentosan, oral HA, with a loading course of Adequan somehwere in there - as opposed to a Legend & Adequan regime. Much more cost-effective.

I've now emailed the same question with ebay link to info@cortaflx.com (minus the -e-)

I hope I'll hear back from them.

Okay, I just spoke to Corta-Flx.
The ebay seller is legitimate! I'd say get it whilst you can, coz the 200mg/oz has been discontinued since last month .
Reason being, it just didn't sell he said.
I told them that most likely it didn't sell, coz there were no online stockists of the product.

He said if there is demand for it, they may bring it back on the market.

It's hard to sell something when most aren't familiar with it's existence! Or even legitimate. Who does their marketing??

Oh bummer! Who wouldn't want the more potent version of something that works so well? I would think the 200mg would outsell the 100mg... if they actually let people know it existed!

eta, aarrghh! looks like the ebay seller has sold out of the liquid! I'm giving the pellets a go..... my horses for some reason hate the syrup anyhow (other horses on the farm love it, so its just my two knuckleheads), so perhaps the pellets are a mixed blessing
