  • Purina Amplify VS. Nutrena Empower

Which one would you choose over the other and why?

I've been using the Amplify for one of my horses and liked it, however I just got a new horse that needs to put on A LOT of weight and buying the Amplify for two is a lot of $$.

    Amplify 50lb bag is @ $50
    Empower 40lb bag is @ $30

I know they have different amounts of fat and other ingredients, but is is really that different?

I will pay the extra for the Amplify if it is $20 more effective

(FYI the reason I started with Amplify is that the feed store closest to me carries it, I'll have to drive a little further to go get the Empower)

I switched from the Amplify to the Nutrena Sr and added corn oil to the Sr.Seems to actually be working better at keeping weight on him and he likes it better

I switched from Nutrena SafeChoice top dressed with Empower ($$$) to TC Senior. I feed much less in total and they are doing extremely well on it and they love it. My hardest keeper really didn't like Empower and he loves, loves, his TC Senior.

By the way, Empower is 40lbs. not 50.
