Board Rules

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

4. No advertising in the discussion forums.classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.

Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:

Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.

Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.

While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.

He certainly has a nice string developing, but these two are both in the 4* not the 5*. I'm still really interested to see what he will do with Chipmunk this year!

Exciting to see Frankie Stutes and Chatwin rerouting for the 5* here. And Allie Knowles and Sound Prospect are also entered for the 5*.

Also interesting to see Dirk Schrade entered on Bettina Hoy's Designer.

I am surprised not to see Wembley re-routed. These aren't the final entries though, are they?

Wembley is being re-routed to Burghley (with some smaller prep along the way). https://www.instagram.com/p/BxEeQoIhOQz/

You are right. My eyes missed the white on light gray.

There are 21 entries at 5* for GB,only 4 of them big names.

Chris Bartle's change in circumstances is showing.

Are you able to elaborate on this? I'm very curious what direction the German team is taking now versus the British with his change of job.

Chris Bartle is taking a longer view. Send out the youngsters to get 5* exposure and confidence on the International Scene. He has gobs of riders left at home he can realistically have in hand for the Olympics.
Hans Melzer has sent the German Olympic candidates and more to do the 4*.

Luhmuhlen is known as a softer 5* hence big entries from relatively unknown as many will be first timers and many will not have got off the wait list for Badminton. Nothing to do with Chris Bartle. Some horses are not suited to Badminton like Flora Harris's. Zagreb, Drumbilla Metro and Reve du Rouet started Badminton but didn't complete.

Sharon Polding is a cool story - proper amateur and went to Pau. Luhmuhlen makes far more sense than Badminton as wouldnt have had enough FEI points.

Isabella Innes Kerr or Lady Isabella to give her full title won Blenheim but has never done a 5* so again Luhmuhlen is a more pragmatic choice. Being over a month later it just gives you more prep time.
