Board Rules

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

4. No advertising in the discussion forums.classifieds site and through the purchase of banner ads. The tightly monitored Giveaways forum permits free listings of genuinely free horses and items available or wanted (on a limited basis). Items offered for trade are not allowed.

Advertising Policy Specifics
When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines:

Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators.

Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query.

While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.

  • Jersey Fresh 2019: Thoroughbreds/OTTBs?

I’ll check the TIP list tomorrow, but does anyone know names of the Thoroughbreds/OTTBs competing at Jersey Fresh 2019? I am looking for all levels. Jockey Club names/sire/dam are also appreciated if you know them- thanks in advance!

yes...that was his JC name. WORST NAME EVER lol. When I bought him...I said no way he is getting a barn name Bushy...and while I do typically keep their JC names....I just couldn’t with that one. He’s too cute for that! I bought him at happy hour on a Friday (as a 4 year old fresh off Charlestown track WV) so I though a good beer name was the way to go....and we ended up with Porter. It suits him well so I just used it as his show name too.

I’m glad I’ve let Sally take over the ride 2 years ago as the two of them are just so well suited. He is my boy (and a total love) so not for sale and still at my farm....but she can go jump the bigger fences with him . Fingers crossed for a good run today! His dressage test was decent (no bucking in his changes)....just scored a bit harsh. He will never be a super fancy mover but they will get competive enough.....and I just care that they jump the fences well!!!

Nilson’s horse Cash is an OTTB....I’ll need to track down his JC name. He’s by Luftikus though.

Laura VanderVliet is on one in the 3*.— Lady Colina

Colleen’s Confidence Game is an OTTB.

Cary’s horse Game On was bred to race (I think his JC name is Paige Boy Boo (Storm Surge-Paiges Boo) but he didn’t race).

I thought Business Ben was one (Allison Springer)

              Steady Eddy is one.

in the 3*, Irish Turn is one.

I’m pretty sure there are several others.

Yes Ben is indeed a TB - I have been stalking that horse since the get go. IIRC she said he was unraced but an expensive youngster. Has always oozed with class IMO.

That is a fantastic name Bushy

Phillip Dutton's Sea of Clouds is one, too. He's by Malibu Moon.

I just got back from spectating at Jersey Fresh! Business Ben closed out the day. He was a bit tense, but unsurprisingly AS is an amazing pilot and rode him beautifully in a very accurate test. I didn't know anything about him, but I love his name and he's a super-cute horse.

Thanks. We ended up scratching him. Hopefully minor issue cropped up and we didn’t want to risk him. He will hopefully be back out quickly. Course was riding better than a lot of the scores show. Ended up a beautiful day today!

Brooke Massies Horse Serendipity is a Thoroughbred in the 3*. I know she’s by Vibank, because she’s 1/2 sister to my two Vibank girls. And she ripped around the XC moving up over 20 places with her jumping rounds! I believe her racing name is Sister Gail but it might be one of his other 2009 bay mare offspring. That name just rings a bell for some reason.
