Board Rules

2. Conversations in horse-related forums should be horse-related.3. Keep conversations productive, on topic and civil.
Discussion and disagreement are inevitable and encouraged; personal insults, diatribes and sniping comments are unproductive and unacceptable. Whether a subject is light-hearted or serious, keep posts focused on the current topic and of general interest to other participants of that thread. Utilize the private message feature or personal email where appropriate to address side topics or personal issues not related to the topic at large.

Truly hope the horse injury is as minor as the press release makes it sound.

As someone who will be watching from my armchair, I am excited that I will be able to root wholeheartedly for the US and not deal with mixed feelings due to having ML as part of the mix.

I wholeheartedly hope that Kitty makes a speedy and full recovery.

But at the same time, now we don't have to worry as much about the team being disqualified for blood!

ETA: And I'm so happy that Will Coleman gets a chance now!

I hate to see injuries & hope she recovers quickly, but she didn't deserve the spot, I couldn't root for the team with her on it, and am happy to see her gone. Not who I want representing my country.

Somehow I've had a gut feeling that this would happen; it doesn't surprise me at all.

We got to watch Will ride cross country at the Nation's Cup at Great Meadows. He is an amazing rider and his horse was one of the best conditioned horses we saw. His ride was beautiful

I wonder if the increased scrutiny that she would have been under had something to do with it. I'm hoping ML's horse recovers quickly.

I'm certainly looking forward to Will's ride.

If it doesn't cool off sometime soon a full TB has a better chance making it around the cross country without a lot of time penalties than a WB. ( This is coming from someone that owns WB's ). I hope he has a good run in all 3 phases! I doubt the scrutiny had any thing to do with it. Horses at that competition level are walking a fine line with injuries.

Happy for will. He could come in last(although I don't think he will) and I would still think he's a better choice

I had the same thought as the conspiracy theorists upthread, but the idea that the powers-that-be/selectors could have had this in mind from the start and executed it without a whisper of the plot getting out seems even more farfetched.

I hope the mare is well because I hate to yell KARMA as loudly as I just did at the expense of that nice horse.

I don't know - I probably worded that poorly, maybe not the *whole* time - but I couldn't help but wonder if there was some kind of nefarious ulterior motive. Everything that woman does makes me suspicious. Congratulations to Will on this opportunity!

I attended the '78 Word Championship when the KHP opened. That was in September, with high heat and humidity. It was disastrous for the horses, and that's why Rolex/Land rover was moved to April. I wondered about the scheduling of the WE G in the summer, in the South
