  • Show Names??

So I've been trying to find a show name for my 14.5 hh Arabian rescue gelding named Sidney, but I've had no luck. I don't know where he's from or his lineage which makes picking out a show name that much harder. Do y'all have any suggestion? His pic is down below. Thank you! (And sorry if I didn't put this in the right category; I'm kinda new to this site

P.S. Sorry the pics are so bad. I had a better one on my phone but couldn't find a way to upload it to the site.

Snowy River. It's in the same general area as Sydney Australia and he's a grey.

Maverick, after the recently departed John Sidney McCain.

First off, 14.5 does not exist, the horse is 15.1

Secondly Snowy River is a great Australian name, if you like "Finding Nemo" you could call him Wallaby Way

Well, the horse COULD be either 14.2 hands, 2 being 1/2 of a hand, OR 14 hands, 1/2" (in which case, I would have no problem with the height description as written. My previous Morgan was 15 hands 1/2", and my current Morgan sticks at 15 hands, 1 7/8". Either one would have had a bit of a problem writing their heights in the "traditional" method.

Really nice looking horse, either way.

Sorry that was a typo! He's 14.3 (barely a horse). Guess school's messing up my brain. Thanks for the names! I'll definitely consider them!

I gave up on show names years ago and all of my horses only have one name. Therefore, if he were mine, he'd show as Sidney. If you want a show name anyway, I like the suggestion of Snowy River.

How about "Dreamtime" -- the name used by the Aboriginal Australian Native Peoples, to signify a life-questing walk they took to search for a mystical revelation from their ancient ancestors.

My advice, as always, is to take your time. The right name will come to you.
