Starting her internship a few days after graduating from Washington and Lee University (Va.) in 2016 with honors in art history and mass communications, Laura was officially hired in October that year as the resident office dog photographer, proud hunter princess and news and feature writer for the hunter/jumper world.

Born and raised in Roanoke, Va., Laura started in horses simply because she played a game of monkey-see-monkey-do with her big sister Allison. From ponies to amateur-owners, she worked her way up the hunter ranks, later competing and captaining for her college’s IHSA program. Nowadays when she’s not holed up in the National Sporting Library researching equine history pieces, she’s found teaching her young horse Nelson the how-tos of the hunter ring, practicing her inflexibility in yoga, drinking red wine at a local vineyard and putting any animal she can find in portrait mode.
