Are you a seasoned fundraiser with a passion for equestrian events and a proven track record of building and developing relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and sponsors? Looking to make your mark in a thriving, well-loved, and exciting Foundation with ambitious goals?

All of us at the Virginia Horse Center Foundation are united by the love of horses. The position of Development Director encompasses both an understanding of and natural affinity for being part of the competitive horse world. You will be a multi-tasker who engages naturally with people, confident and able to establish and steward relationships with equestrians ranging from backyard- to Olympic-level competitors – understanding each and providing opportunities for them to give back to the Virginia Horse Center they know and love.

You will lead a small team of staff and have a wide range of responsibilities, including meeting proven and prospective donors, managing campaigns, encouraging endowment and planned giving opportunities, and supervision of marketing and social media staff. As a member of the management team, you will have input in key strategic decisions of the Foundation. You will build a culture of philanthropy within the equestrian community, VHC staff, volunteers, and board members. Reporting to the CEO, you will be a key force in the success of the Horse Center.
