Equestrian Coach Needed:

Primary Function: Assist equestrian director to plan, organize, and direct the university-sponsored equestrian team, as well as in the management of university-owned and boarder horses.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Serve as coach to the intercollegiate riding team.
2. Instruct physical education riding classes.
3. Participate in scheduling, planning, and travel arrangements for away competition.
4. Assist with recruitment of prospective students.
5. Work with director to host horse shows and events
6. Assist with fundraising initiatives at the equestrian center
7. Enforce and monitor equestrian center policies and procedures.
8. Assist director of equestrian with the monitoring of team budget.
9. Collaborate with director of equestrian in the management of routine and emergency care of all horses.
10. Work with boarders to maintain a proper feed and turn-out schedule for their horses as well as manage any problems/conflicts/issues that may arise.
11. Handle all paperwork involved with the teams’ participation in IHSA competitions.
12. Must be prepared to help with all barn chores, to include feeding, watering, turn out, clipping, stall cleaning, sweeping, and keeping barn orderly.
13. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
