PF’s Chardo is a 2017 Imported Dark Bay Holsteiner Stallion, Fully Licensed with the Hanoverian Verband, WFFS – N/N. Chardo completed his 50 days test in November of 2021 in Germany and was imported by Ryan Pedigo Sport Horses in early 2022. At his Stallion Test and Licensing, Chardo impressed the judges and spectators with his impressive good looks, correctness, presentation, athleticism, scope, technique, style, and willingness in performance. Chardo represented his phenomenal lineage precisely, receiving outstanding marks during his performance at his 50 days test. His scores were as follows: 8.5 for Rideability, 9.0 for Scope, 8.5 for Style & Technique, 8.5 for Character & Temperament, 8.5 for General Impression, 9.0 for Rideability By Judges and 9.0 for Willingness to Perform.
Chardo’s sire, the impressive Holsteiner Stallion, Charleston, is the son of sport horse legend Cascadello I x Casall / Capitol I x Cantus / Caletto I / Lady Killer xx. Charleston was the “2015 Champion Stallion” of the Holstein Licensing in Germany, with both his flawless physical stature and performance presentation. Charleston was greatly complimented as he showcases such talents to be recognized as one of Cascadello I’s top sons to date. During the licensing test, Charleston dominated the attention of all who watched him with his phenomenal jumping potential, scope, style, technique and power. He finished his Stallion Performance Test with top marks.
Chardo’s grandsire, Cascadello I, won his 70-days performance test in Marbach in 2012 with 9.38 points in show jumping. Cascadello I, who truly needs no introduction, has a strong living legacy through his ten Licensed sons, highly decorated daughters, offspring in sport and foals. Cascadello I’s daughters dominated “The Elmshorn Elite Mare Show in 2017.” Cascadello I sired all three top scoring mares, Champion Mare, Reserve Champion Mare and the mare with the “strongest movements.” Furthermore, Cascadello I enthralled the judges and the crowds with his outstanding performance during his stallion licensing. His phenomenal jump, scope, style, technique and overall impression could not be matched. Following the Stallion Licensing in 2012, Cascadello I sold for an impressive price of 600,000 Euros, capturing the title “Champion Premium Class Stallion.” Cascadello I’s sire Casall is the talk of the sport horse breeding world for his great success with rider Rolf-Goran Bengtsson and their win at the ‘Global Championships Tour’ Show Jumping Event in Hanburg and Monte Carlo, as well as their win at the ‘World Cup Show Jumping Event’ in Lyon and their second place finish at the ‘World Cup Show Jumping Event’ in Geneva.
Chardo’s Dam is the State Premium mare, Fenjas, who is sired by Nerrado x Contender / Calypso II, an impressive lineage. Her portion of the pedigree is simply phenomenal and continues to impress, encompassing some of Show Jumping’s finest Sport Horse bloodlines. Fenjas’s sire, the great Olympian and Sport Horse Sire, Nerrado by Nekton, has a living legacy that is truly historical. Nerrado has successfully achieved the highest honors in performance, with grand accomplishments such as: Olympic Games rankings, a Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal, FEI World Championship rankings, Grand Prix top rankings, top rankings at the 2018, 2019 and 2021 Continental / Regional Championships in Zuidwolde, with rider Hannes Ahlmann. Furthering his grand accomplishments, Nerrado has proven to be a world class sire, to date he has sired many Licensed Sons, State Premium producing daughters, and offspring performing in sport both Nationally and Internationally.
Chardo’s grand dam is the State Premium mare A-Constella, who is sired by Contender x Alcatraz x Capitol I. A-Constella’s sire, the great stallion Contender, who’s multi-faceted legacy is quite the historical story, earned his place in the Sport Horse Breeding World, elevating him as one of the most influential sires in history. Contender’s great importance mirrors his fine bloodlines, which has secured him as one of the most sought-after sires in Germany to date. He produced 127 Licensed Sons, 59 State Premium Mares, 782 Registered Mares and 498 successful offspring in the sport.
Naming a few of Contender’s successful offspring: top sire Contendro I, Checkmate who showed under rider Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Carlo who showed under rider Nick Shelton, Chiara who showed under rider Ludger Beerbaum, Collin the 3-time Hamburg Derby Winner, Cordobes I & II, who were acquired by Westfalien Stud, Canabis Z who stood successfully at Zangersheide, prior to standing successfully at Nijhof Stud in Holland, sons Copa d’ Oro, Chicoletto, Contango, Continue, Caius, Clinto, Calvador and Cashman. Canabis Z continued great success in the sport, competing internationally with Manuel Fernandez Saro from 2003 to 2009 with a Grand Prix win at Vejer de la Frontera, one of his greatest successes in sport. Furthermore, Contender’s sons competed in International sport; Contreo, Conterno Grande and Montender, who competed successfully at the German Championships in 2003, earning a bronze medal at the Athens Games and European Championships in 2005. The late Contender is known as European royalty, historically shaping the evolution of the Sport Horse Breeding World as we know it today.
