The Knox School in Saint James, a nonsectarian, independent college preparatory boarding and day school for grades six through twelve with a post-graduate year, is currently accepting applications for an Equine Instructional Assistant beginning immediately. The Knox School provides students with a strong and supportive academic program, a familial environment, small class sizes, and enriching arts and athletic programs.

The Equine Instructional Assistant will report directly to the Director of Equine Science and become a member of a dynamic and progressive Equestrian and School Program. This candidate will have multiple years of national-level successful show experience with an emphasis on hunter and equitation disciplines, and experience working with beginner riders and small children. This candidate will have an innate love of horsemanship and equine science and will work to make a dramatic impact on the School’s Equestrian Program.

A successful candidate will have administrative experience in accounts payable and receivables, managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the barn including but not limited to: Scheduling the Veterinarian and Farrier, ordering feed and bedding, scheduling lessons, and overseeing the logistical planning for horse shows.
