An Excellent Reminder Of Why We Do This

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are prepared for the coming winter months. I’m certainly never ready for the cold.

I’m currently sitting on my good friends Hawley and Gamal Awad’s couch in Temecula, Calif., where I’ve woken up at 3 a.m. due to the time change! I flew home for a week to spend some time with my family and friends and horse shop before things start getting busy back at True Prospect Farm.

Team Rapport And The Best Pep Talk Ever

I've been quite busy this past month, to say the least, and I feel like I’ve been so lucky to have been so!

I guess the appropriate way to start off a blog would be a recap on how the U.S. Nations Cup team at the Boekelo CCI*** fared. Being named to the team along with Phillip Dutton, Jon Holling and Clark Montgomery was quite an honor and, needless to say, an eye-opening experience.

Welcome To Boekelo!

Well, I’m sitting here in our tack room at Boekelo CCIO in the Netherlands after walking the course with our crew and waiting for Cambalda’s ring familiarization. This morning Phillip and Atlas had a workmanlike test this in the cold weather, and Clark delivered a lovely test on Glen this afternoon, so our team (while I am writing this) is sitting in fifth.

Only In Unionville

Well, it’s been awhile since I checked in, and I know there’s been a lot going on in eventing land with the announcement of the team for London!

I’m so happy that Big Phil and Boyd are on there and really happy for newcomer Will Coleman, as I feel like he’s really earned his spot and has been working so hard to get there. I know everyone has been talking a lot of about that so I’ll move on... I’m sure the Chronicle Forums are buzzing! Ha ha.

The Scariest Experience Of My Life

Well, things have sure been interesting in my life the past few weeks, and I can’t help but admit that I just seem to be having a bit of a low year! These things happen, though, and then it’s just that much better when things go right.

I guess I should share the story of how I recently injured my knee.

Baby Indie: Grown Into His Big Boy Britches

Well, things have really been happening at TPF lately, with the big move back home to Pennsylvania. And in the meantime, we competed at The Fork Horse Trials, which was, in keeping with the current theme of my spring, a good and bad weekend for me!

I ran Indie in the intermediate, and I really have to say, with how he started this spring—a little green and rough—I am beyond impressed with how he’s improved. He really stepped up to the plate at The Fork this past weekend.
