McDynamo and Tuscalee, the respective steeplechase leaders by U.S. earnings and wins, were inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame on Aug. 9. The induction ceremony was held at Fasig-Tipton Co.’s Humphrey Finney Sales Pavilion in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Owned by Michael Moran and trained by Sanna Hendriks, McDynamo won Eclipse Awards as champion steeplechaser in 2003, 2005 and 2006. He tops the list of U.S. steeplechase earnings with $1,310,104.

The following horse-and-driver combinations have been named by the U.S. Equestrian Federation to represent the United States at the 2013 FEI World Pair Driving Championships in Topolciansky, Slovakia, Aug. 28-Sept. 1. The three following combinations will compete in Topolciansky:

Rachel Blanchard (Upperville, Va.) will drive Belle Grey Farm LLC's de l'Amour; Belle Grey Farm LLC and Heather Briggs’ Taksi; and Thomas Blumschein's Tara 14.

De l'Amour is a 2007 Oldenburg mare.

Taksi is a 2000 Dutch Warmblood mare.

Tara 14 is a 2002 Austrian Warmblood mare.

It wasn’t long ago that Jazz and Rosie were just little girls on racing ponies, but today they’re the most famous sisters in flat racing and steeplechasing.

Her big sister, the pony in front of her, a career in one of the most staunchly male-centric professions in America. At 25 years old, Rosie Napravnik has been chasing someone or something her entire life.

What do you get when you take a formerly abused and neglected Hackney pony and pair him with two combined driving rookies? If the pony is Harpo and the drivers are Jennifer Keeler and husband David Harris, you get a successful CDE team.

Keeler, of Paris, Ky., grew up riding and now shows her Quarter Horse, Reilly, in the hunters. She’d tried some pleasure driving with Reilly, but Keeler and Harris enjoyed combined driving only as spectators—until Keeler met Harpo.

Fédération Equestre Internationale President HRH Princess Haya has asked Andrew Finding, a board member of the European Equestrian Federation and secretary general of the British Equestrian Federation, to chair a round table session that will look into areas of concern within the sport of endurance.
