Top ranked FEI Four-in-Hand driver Chester Weber and his wife My welcomed their first son at 11:05 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17. Douglas Oskar Weber entered the world at 21 inches long and weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces.

Chester, who has been training in Germany for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (France), flew back to the United States when his wife called to say she was going into labor.

The U.S. Equestrian Federation has named five horse-and-athlete combinations to the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games U.S. Para-Equestrian Dressage Team. Four combinations will serve as the team, while one combination will compete as an individual.

The following horse-and-athlete combinations have been named to the team (in alphabetical order):

Sydney Collier (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Victoria Dugan's Willi Wesley. Willi Wesley is a 14-year-old Warmblood gelding.

For the second year in a row, Chester Weber, of Ocala, Fla., took home the individual four-in-hand title at the Saumur CAIO**** (France). Weber’s big scores helped the U.S. team, which also included Midsee Wrigley-Miller and Allison Stroud, win bronze in the Nations Cup competition behind the Dutch and French teams.

The USEF Para-Equestrian Dressage National Championship came to a close on Thursday, June 5, at the USET Foundation Headquarters in Gladstone, N.J., with Rebecca Hart claiming her sixth national title. The day began under overcast and rainy skies, ultimately clearing at the lunch break to finish out the 2014 event with much more pleasant weather.
