St. Lawrence University (N.Y.) increased their lead in the second day of team competition at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships. With a current lead of seven points over Skidmore College (N.Y.), St. Lawrence will end the competition as either champion or reserve for the Collegiate Cup.
St. Lawrence, winners of the 2012 Collegiate Cup, took an early lead at this year's IHSA National Championship.

As a high school sophomore, I shook off thoughts of college, preferring to think of it as in the far and distant future. Why? Because I feared leaving behind what I have and having to look forward toward a place that represents the great unknown.

But on Jan. 18-20 in Wellington, Fla., the College Preparatory Invitational allowed me to see that I don’t have to leave my horses or riding in the past. I can continue to ride and compete at a high level in college.

Kels Bonham of the Savannah College of Art and Design tackled the work-off course today with the same confidence she’s shown throughout the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships and won the Cacchione Cup.

When Bonham, 21, drew Sampson, donated by Virginia Intermont for the competition, for the ride-off, she was thrilled.
