EHV-1 Outbreak In Florida

March 2 - A horse in Loxahatchee, Fla., has developed neurological symptoms after testing positive for EHV-1.
Feb. 28 - The two suspect horses that had been stabled in the FEI stabling area at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival have tested negative for EHV-1, so the show goes on.
A second horse has tested positive for EHV-1 in Ocala, and the HITS showgrounds have been placed under quarantine.
Feb. 27 - The FEI stabling at the FEI Winter Equestrian Festival is quarantined after a horse stabled off-grounds tests as EHV-1 positive, and four horses with Ocala connections also test positive.

Feb. 25 - Five days after the HITS Ocala index case's positive test, no new cases had arisen.
Feb. 23 - A suspect case of EHV-1 in Wellington, Fla., turns out to be a false alarm, but the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival implements heightened biosecurity measures.
Feb. 22 - A horse showing at the HITS Ocala showgrounds tests positive for EHV-1 and is treated at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.
