There’s two ways to get to ride around the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** course. Chronicle reporter Mollie Bailey took the easy way.
It’s a good thing that the 2015 Rolex Kentucky event had such a strong foreign contingent because otherwise people would think that Derek di Grazia’s cross-country course was impossible.
One second. It’s the difference between Tim Price and Michael Jung at the top of the Rolex Kentucky leaderboard after cross-country. That 1 second over the optimum time is what gave Jung 0.4 time penalties with La Biosthetique Sam FBW, and it’s what put him into second just behind his co-leader after dressage, Price on Wesko. Does Jung feel sad about that one second?

Win, lose or anything in between, the riders at Rolex Kentucky had a variety of reasons to appreciate their partners today.
Catch up with a play-by-play of the cross-country phase of the competition.
What do Michael Jung’s La Biosthetique Sam FBW, Tim Price’s Wesko and William Fox-Pitt’s Bay My Hero have in common? They’re all winners of four-stars—and they’re all fighting for another win this weekend.
We're back with the second day of dressage here at the Rolex Kentucky CCI****! About half of the 75-horse field goes today, with Lillian Heard on Share Option kicking things off at 9:30 am local time. Can anyone steal the lead from Germany's Michael Jung? Will it be Michael on his second ride, La Biosthetique Sam, or perhaps last year's winners William Fox-Pitt on Bay My Hero?
It’s the end of Day 1 of dressage here at the Rolex Kentucky CCI****, and Germany’s Michael Jung is leading with Fischerrocana FST with a 39.3. Is anyone surprised? Probably not, since he’s won Olympic gold, FEI World Equestrian Games gold and FEI European Championships gold.
