While it's fun covering all of the equine action during a big competition like The Fork, sometimes the most interesting stories happen back in the barns. We took a stroll through stabling and found a few top riders who shared stories of their best friends of the canine persuasion.
Jennie Brannigan found herself in a familiar position with Nina Gardner’s Cambalda this afternoon as she jumped another stylish double-clear in the CIC*** at The Fork to slip into the lead headed into cross-country.
Liz Halliday-Sharp has led the dressage at several of her spring events on Fernhill By Night this season, but when given five minutes of warm up at The Fork CIC*** this morning, even she was understandably nervous about the outcome.
When Hallie Coon was 11, she inherited the ride on Namaste’ from her sister. Even then Coon had dreams of galloping around the Rolex Kentucky CCI****, like many horse crazy young girls.
