2014 North American Junior & Young Rider Championships

Nobody would have guessed that the Area II Junior eventing team was made up of all first-timers at the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships (Ky.) by the way they blazed around David O’Connor’s one-star track to take a 19-point lead ahead of Area VIII and the rest of the competitive CH-J* division.
There are so many more adorable, inspiring and fascinating moments at the 2014 Adequan/FEI NAJYRC, but you won't find them looking through a camera at the ring-you have to turn around.
Catherine Chamberlain had a fairytale week at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships in Lexington, Ky., July 14-20. She and Verdicci earned the highest score in the Young Rider team competition and helped Region 7 win a gold medal.
Our third installment of Humans of NAJYRC highlights those who aren't necessarily in the spotlight winning medals, but who add just as much charisma to the atmosphere at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior And Young Rider Championships.

The first individual medals of the Adequan/FEI NAJYRC were given out to dressage riders.

There are stories out there that don't end in a victory gallop, and even those riders standing center ring at the end of a competition with a gold medal around their neck have a lot more to their story than how they kept the rails up and their scores high.
When it came time for the Region 7 Young Rider team to lead the victory lap at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior And Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North (Ky.) on July 16, their synchronization proved how well the riders have come to know each other.
