2014 Capital Challenge

2014 Capital Challenge

Relive all the action from last year.

Sure Ransom was a pre-green horse getting his feet wet in the show ring just last year, and Capital Challenge marked his very first indoor, but with Vivian Yowan up, there was enough confidence to go around for the two of them. Yowan piloted the bay gelding to the top of the World Champion Hunter Rider Junior Challenge over 32 other competitors, scoring a 92, 90 and 89.
Jane Gaston was fighting tears as she hopped off Lumiere with a look of gratitude, helped put on his scrim and walked out of the indoor arena at the Capital Challenge Horse Show, but it wasn’t only because they’d just led the victory gallop in the World Champion Hunter Rider amateur-owner 3’6” challenge. She was celebrating she and “Lu’s” return to Capital Challenge after a several-year hiatus out of the spotlight.
Tara Metzner and Come Monday had a rough go at derby finals, so when they stepped up to win the competitive professional division, it meant a lot to their career.
Check out a photo gallery of all the horse and rider support—and plenty of festivity—back at the barns at the unique venue in Upper Marlboro, Md.
