The Setters’ Run Farm Carolina International and Horse Trials in Raeford, North Carolina, has long been a staple for top riders prepping for a spring five- or four-star long, and this year’s event is no different, offering spectators a lineup in the CCI4*-S stocked with some of the country’s top horses. The event begins Thursday and offers international division from the one- to four-star levels as well as novice through advanced classes.

Will Coleman is on a three-year winning streak in the four-star, taking the title with Off The Record (2021), Dondante (2022) and Chin Tonic HS (2023). While none of those horses are entered this year, he’s hoping to extend his win streak with another entry, Diabolo, a 12-year-old Holsteiner owned by the Diabolo Group LLC Syndicate. He’ll have stiff competition though, as all of the pairs from last year’s silver-medal winning team from the Pan American Games in Chile—Caroline Pamucku and HSH Blake, Liz Halliday and Miks Master C, Sharon White and Claus 63, and Sydney Elliott and QC Diamantaire—also are entered.

U.S. Chef d’Equipe Bobby Costello and U.S. Emerging and Development Coach Leslie Law will face off in the USEF Futures Team Challenge, with teams of four riders from the four- and three-star divisions.
