Horses have once again taken over the nation’s capital with the Washington International Horse Show running Oct. 22-27 in the Capital One Arena in downtown Washington, District of Columbia.

The week starts on Tuesday, Oct. 22, with professionals, amateurs and children’s hunters all taking their turn in the arena.

Jumper highlights throughout the week include the $136,300 Longines FEI World Cup qualifier and the $25,000 Land Rover Puissance class. The ever-popular U.S. Pony Racing Shetland steeplechase will return on Barn Night (Thursday, Oct. 24) ahead of the $36,000 accumulator costume class, which is always a crowd favorite.

The children’s and adult amateur hunter and jumper WIHS series will hold their finals, and titles will also be handed out in the Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund WIHS equitation and WIHS pony equitation finals.
