We are delighted to introduce you to the 2024 Brilliance Horse Auction – an auction with one goal – to bring to the market twelve horses that we truly believe will become leading lights on the world show jumping stage. In other words, horses with brilliance in their DNA, in their show records and in their potential.

The Brilliance Horse Auction Company was conceived in 2022 when life-long friends and colleagues Pippa and William Funnell of The Billy Stud, and Chloe and Shane Breen of Breen Equestrian Ltd, Hickstead, were discussing dates for their own forthcoming auctions, to avoid any clashes in a very busy calendar. Why not join forces for a new collection held at one of the UK’s leading 5* shows – The London International Horse Show in December 2023. The UK is facing a unique set of circumstances following our withdrawal from the EU in 2020. Its has never been more important for the rest of the world to see that we are open for business as usual. What better way to highlight the quality that we have on offer than as the eyes of the showjumping world turn to the FEI World Cup Show Jumping in London, at Christmas!

So the idea was sown, and with the unbridled enthusiasm and technical expertise of the team at LIHS, we hosted our inaugural auction in 2023, generating a staggering £1,700,000. As we turn to the second running of the auction in December 2024, particular thanks must go to The HPower Group for their unequivocal backing of our vision. We are extremely proud of the 2023 TBHAC graduates who have been competing with great success both nationally and internationally, including a Nations Cup call up and championship tickets to the prestigious Horse of The Year Show finals in Birmingham, UK.

Shane Breen, William Funnell and Roger McCrea have carefully hand-picked the entries for this years’ collection. As well as drawing from those in our own stables, we have personally invited other trusted breeders, producers and owners from the UK and Ireland to put forward their stars for consideration. We are enormously grateful to them for allowing us the privilege of presenting their horses for sale. Above all, we have chosen horses that we are proud to stand behind and to sell under the banner of the Brilliance Horse Auction Company.
