Watch Why They Won: Ward’s Devon Three-Peat

Jun 3, 2019 - 12:22 PM

Devon, Pa.—June 3

Three years, three different horses, same rider, same result. For the third year in a row McLain Ward brought home the win in the $250,000 Sapphire Grand Prix of Devon—his 11th total. (You can read about his victory here.) As his winning mounts have wildly different styles, we’ve compiled their winning jump-offs for you, courtesy of USEF Network.

The incredibly talented HH Azur was the winner this year.

Last year, Clinta was still a relatively new face, but her Devon victory proved she was going to be something special.

In 2017, crowd favorite Rothchild took top honors.

The Chronicle will be on site all week bringing you beautiful photos, daily reports and more. Don’t forget to pick up a copy of the June 17 issue for more in-depth stories from the winners.
