An eventer, a show jumper and a driver meet in the main stadium at the CHIO Aachen (Germany). It sounds like the start of a joke, but it’s an actual class at Aachen. In the Lavazza Cup, an eventer leads off the relay competition before handing the baton to a show jumper. Once the show jumper completes the course, the event rider hops on the back of the driver’s carriage, and they set out to tackle a number of hazards and cones obstacles.

This year’s Lavazza Cup was won by Germany’s Michael Jung (Chocolat), Germany’s Denis Nielsen (Taquadriga) and France’s Benjamin Aillaud (Favory Fantom, Haico, Maestoso Leo, Topspeed Macho).
