Washington International Horse Show officials announced on Dec. 13 that the show will remain at the Verizon Center in downtown Washington, D.C., after the Board of Directors secured a two-year contract extension on the Verizon Center.
One major change will be the date, however. Next year the show will run Oct. 8-14, sandwiched between the Capital Challenge (Md.) on Oct. 1-7 and the Pennsylvania National, Oct. 18-27, a major adjustment in the rotation of the East Coast fall indoor horse shows.
The Verizon Center will also host the show during its 50th anniversary in 2008.

In 1975, it began a 25-year run at the more spacious U.S. Air Arena (Capital Centre) in Prince George\’s County. Since 2000, the show has been held at the Verizon Center (MCI Center) in downtown Washington, D.C.
