Laytonsville, MD – April 13, 2010 – Waredaca, one of the premier equestrian facilities in Maryland, announces the Eventing Extraspecial Week to be held in conjunction with Waredaca’s Summer Horse Trials and the Eastern Regional Adult Team Championships sponsored by The Chronicle of the Horse.

Riders will have two unique opportunities. The first is to spend a week prepping for the horse trials and championships with a pair of clinics leading up to the competition. The second involves capturing all the great sights in the nearby area. Baltimore, Washington, Annapolis, and the Chesapeake Bay are all within an easy drive of the farm.

The week kicks off on Tuesday with a two-day clinic with eventer Leslie Law, the reigning Olympic individual gold medalist. Law is consistently ranked among the top riders in the world.

“Leslie practices what he preaches and can effectively preach what he practices,” said Gretchen Butts, Waredaca owner and organizer, who has also competed at the international 4 star level in eventing. “Make no mistake – you will finish this clinic a better rider with a better horse.”

The week continues with a Fix-A-Test dressage clinic on Thursday prior to the dressage phase of the Eastern Regional Adult Team Championships, which will begin on Friday.

“Waredaca has always been such a great place for riders,” said Margaret Rizzo, sponsorship coordinators. “The Eventing Extraspecial Week combines all our best offerings into one event, which is really exciting.”

Participants can arrive at any time during the week to take advantage of the Leslie Law clinic and Fix-A-Test, or both. Waredaca is located less than an hour to Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, making this is a perfect opportunity for sightseeing as well. Boarding is available on a limited basis. Early registration is recommended.

Waredaca has been hosting horse trials and clinics for decades. One of the most well-established equestrian facilities in Maryland, the farm features two outdoor rings, an indoor and a USEA-recognized cross-country course through Intermediate level.

The schedule for the Eventing Extraspecial Week will be: Leslie Law Clinic, Aug. 10-11; Fix-A-Test, Aug. 12; Waredaca Fall Horse Trials and Eastern Regional Adult Team Championships, Aug. 13-15.
