Loxahatchee, FL – May 3, 2010 – Beginning in May, Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center (VTRC) will be supporting Janae Designs in their bid to win the Pepsi Refresh Project. Janae Designs creates physical therapy equipment and products to help improve the physical development and quality of life of those with special needs. Founder Ollie Jones IV hopes to use the grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to provide 365 kids with therapy equipment in 365 days.

The Pepsi Refresh Project grant is open to anyone with ideas on how to make a positive impact on your community. “My daughter has special needs and I wanted to provide her with some of the equipment that we could not get from the insurance companies and the healthcare companies,” explained Jones. “I utilized my engineering and manufacturing background to create equipment for her and founded Janae Designs. I heard about the Pepsi grant on the radio, and I thought it was a wonderful opportunity to be able to provide my equipment to children for free.”

Jones’ daughter Janae rides at VTRC and many of the other students take advantage of the wonderful products that are available through Janae Designs. Many years ago, when Jones first moved to Florida, he found out about the work of VTRC through a woman who donated a horse to the organization.

“She gave me the information because she felt it could benefit my daughter, who has cerebral palsy,” commented Jones. “We contacted them, they invited us over, and it has been a blessing ever since. Janae has really improved her posture, trunk strength, balance and range of motion (ROM).  She loves riding horses and looks forward to it every Saturday.”

VTRC asks that beginning May 1 thru May 31, everyone takes the time to vote for Janae Designs in the Pepsi Refresh Project via their website, www.JanaeDesigns.com. Please encourage friends and family to vote Once-Per-Day in May and help promote Jones’ idea to help children that are less fortunate.

The VTRC is a nonprofit organization based in Loxahatchee, FL, that provides recreational and therapeutic riding instruction to people of all ages with varying developmental, physical, and psychological disabilities. The organization, founded in 1982, assists more than 350 adults and children every year, helping them gain a sense of accomplishment, greater independence, and a higher quality of life. The VTRC has received a “Premier Accreditation” rating from the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).
