USHJA Executive Director Being Investigated For Improper Behavior

Jul 2, 2018 - 12:16 PM

An anonymous letter, sent by “aggrieved staff members” at the U.S. Hunter Jumper Association and obtained by The Chronicle of the Horse, accuses USHJA Executive Director Kevin Price of grievances including sexual harassment, psychological abuse, emotional abuse, bullying and abuse of power. The letter is addressed to USHJA Board of Directors and dated May 16.

A short press release from the USHJA reads as follows:

“USHJA has been made aware of an anonymous letter alleging wrongdoing by one of our employees being circulated publicly. Consistent with internal personnel policies, we are in the process of conducting a full and prompt investigation of the allegations. Signed, Mary Babick on behalf of the USHJA Board of Directors.”

Price could not be reached for comment.

Babick, who serves as president of the USHJA, declined to comment on the investigation.

Price is still listed as the executive director on the USHJA website.
