The United States Equestrian Team Foundation is pleased to announce that it will be offering three lovely items during a silent auction held at the 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions. The Festival features two consecutive weekends of extraordinary competition at the USET Foundation Headquarters in Gladstone, New Jersey. The first weekend of competition will be held August 6 – 8, 2010, and the second week will be held August 13 – 15, 2010.

Bidding for the silent auction will begin on August 6, 2010, and the winners will be announced the following weekend, on August 15, 2010 after the Grand Prix. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the USET Foundation to help support the U.S. Equestrian Team during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™.

Ariel Weisman, Kim Schultz and Meredith Burton, interns with the USEF High Performance Office in Gladstone this summer, developed this wonderful auction to benefit the USET Foundation. “I think we have some really special items that cater to the dressage and horse community, and you won’t be able to be find them anywhere else,” noted Weisman. “The items are very specific to the crowd that attends this event, yet can be bid on by anyone.”

The first item that will be available to bid on is a Schleese Dressage Bridle and Custom Saddle Fitting. The Schleese Black Warmblood size Dressage Bridle features an attractive raised browband and padded crank noseband with a padded chin guard. The crown is also padded with shaped ear cutouts. The throatlatch has buckles on both sides and the crank and flash straps feature roller buckles for ease of tightening. The French-style leather covered reins come with standard notches. The Schleese Custom Saddle Fitting, which is an evaluation of how a saddle fits a rider and his or her horse, is performed by a Schleese Certified Saddlefit Technician (SFT) or Certified Saddlefit Representative (SFR). Schleese approaches saddle fitting as both an art and a science. This item has been generously donated by Schleese Saddlery.

An exciting trip to Ireland will also be available thanks to the Active Travel, Inc, which donated Active Travel, Inc.’s Ireland Galway and Clare Trail Ride. This trip is one of Active Travel, Inc.’s most popular Inn-to-Inn rides. This seven-night excursion will take the winning bidder through the foothills of the Slieve Aughty Mountains on a wonderful Irish Sport Horse or Cob. The winner will have the chance to see ancient Celtic tombs, ancient Celtic ring forts, and riders will pass through charming Irish villages where they will be introduced to wonderful Irish traditions as well as enjoying the chance to rest. The ride culminates at the majestic Cliffs of Moher on the West Coast.  The Cliffs are truly a marvel and are quite breathtaking when standing at the top, watching the waves breaking 600 feet below as the sun dips beyond the horizon.
