The U.S. Equestrian Federation has named the four horse-and-rider combinations to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (France) U.S. Dressage Team. Two combinations have been named as alternates.

The following horse-and-rider combinations have been named to the team (in alphabetical order):

Laura Graves (Geneva, Fla.) will ride her own Verdades.

Tina Konyot (Palm City, Fla.) will ride her own Calecto V.

Adrienne Lyle (Ketchum, Idaho) will ride Peggy Thomas’ Wizard.

Steffen Peters (San Diego, Calif.) will ride Four Winds Farm’s Legolas 92.

The following horse-and-athlete combinations have been named as substitutes to the team (in ranked order):

Shelly Francis (Loxahatchee, Fla.) and Patricia Stempel’s Doktor.

Lisa Wilcox (Loxahatchee, Fla.) and Betty Wells’ Denzello.

Following the The Dutta Corp/USEF Grand Prix Dressage National Championship/ Selection Trial for the World Games U.S. Dressage Team Short List, held June 12-15 in Gladstone, N.J., the top eight horses traveled to Europe to compete in CDI competitions. These included Mandatory Outings at CDI**** Fritzens (Austria) and CHIO***** Aachen (Germany).

As part of the selection process in the naming of the team the performances of all combinations were taken into consideration. It was felt that with just six months of competing at the Grand Prix level it was too soon to ask the talented combination of Caroline Roffman and her 11-year-old Hanoverian mare, Her Highness O, to contend with the World Games atmosphere in France.
