USEF Names Ranked WEG Show Jumping Short List

U.S. Equestrian Federation officials have named the following horse-and-rider combinations in ranked order to the U.S. Show Jumping Team Short List for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games:

  1. McLain Ward, 34, of Brewster, N.Y. on Sapphire, a 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare owned by the rider, Tom Grossman and Blue Chip Bloodstock
  2. Laura Kraut, 44, of Middleburg, Va., on Cedric, a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Happy Hill Farm
  3. Lauren Hough, 32, of Wellington, Fla., on Quick Study, an 11-year-old French Warmblood gelding owned by the rider and Meredith Mateo
  4. Mario Deslauriers, 44, of New York, N.Y. on Urico, a 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Jane F. Clark
  5. Candice King, 39, of Wellington, Fla., on Skara Glen’s Davos, a 10-year-old Zangersheide gelding owned by Skara Glen Stables
  6. Richard Spooner, 39, of Agua Dulce, Calif., on Cristallo, a 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding owned by Show Jumping Syndications International
  7. Rich Fellers, 50, of Wilsonville, Ore., on Flexible, a 14-year-old Irish-bred stallion owned by Harry and Mollie Chapman
  8. Ward on Rothchild, a 9-year-old warmblood gelding owned by Sagamore Farms
  9. Beezie Madden, 46, Cazenovia, N.Y., on Mademoiselle, a 13-year-old Holsteiner mare owned by Abigail Wexner
  10. Cara Raether, 30, of North Palm Beach, Fla., on Ublesco, a 13-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion owned by Trelawny Farm
