USEF Announces Short List For Paris Paralympics

The U.S. Equestrian Federation announced today the 12 athlete-and-horse combinations selected to the U.S. Paralympic Dressage Team short list ahead of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games to be held Sept. 2-7 in Versailles, France. The team will be led by Chef d’Equipe Michel Assouline and Team Leader Laureen Johnson. The team selection will be announced by the USOPC final entry deadline of Aug. 5.

The following combinations have been selected to the 2024 U.S. Paralympic Dressage Team short list with the first four combinations listed in ranked order, followed by alphabetical order.

• Roxanne Trunnell (Royal Palm Beach, Florida) and Fan Tastico H, a 7-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Fuerstenball OLD—Wehmut, Weltmeyer) owned by Karin Flint and groomed by Rafael Hernandez-Carillo

• Fiona Howard (Boston) and Diamond Dunes, an 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding (De L’Or—Wibella, Wolkentanz) owned by Dressage Family LLC and Hof Kasselmann and groomed by Helen Claire McNulty, and Jagger, a 12-year-old Westphalian gelding (Johnson TN—Sigur Ros, Sando Hit) owned by the rider and Julian Howard and groomed by Helen Claire McNulty

• Kate Shoemaker (Wellington, Florida) and Vianne, an 8-year-old Hanoverian mare (Vitalis—Raureif, Ramiro’s Bube) owned by NorCordia USA and groomed by Katherine Barrett, and Quiana, a 10-year-old Rheinlander mare (Quarterstern—Rubina, Rubinstern Noir) owned by the rider and Deena and Craig Shoemaker and groomed by Katherine Barrett

• Rebecca Hart (Loxahatchee, Florida) and Floratina, a 16-year-old Hanoverian mare (Fidertanz 2—Rubina, Rubin Royal OLD) owned by Rowan O’Riley and groomed by Mackenzie Young, and El Corona Texel, a 15-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding (Wynton—Urieta Texel, Goodtimes) owned by Rowan O’Riley and groomed by Mackenzie Young

• Sydney Collier (Ann Arbor, Michigan) and Bell Bottoms, a 10-year-old Oldenburg mare (Benetton Dream—Issandra, Fidertanz) owned by Diamante Farms, Going for Gold LLC and Devon Kane, and groomed by German Altamirano

• Beatrice de Lavalette (Wellington) and Sixth Sense, a 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Sir Donnerhall I—Edosta, Florencio I) owned by Elizabeth de Lavalette and Nicolas de Lavalette and groomed by Monica Stanke

• Cynthia Screnci (Wellington) and For Memory 4, a 7-year-old Hanoverian gelding (For Dance—Despania, Destano) owned by the rider and groomed by Lia Screnci, and Sir Chipoli, a 17-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding (Sir Donnerhall—Vivalucienne TKS, Carabas) owned by the rider and Volado Farms and groomed by Lia Screnci

• Elle Woolley (Ocala, Florida) and Deucalion, an 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding (DiMaggio—Sandra Bullock, Sandro Hit) owned by Elle the rider and groomed by Rafael Hernandez-Carillo

The three combinations who will represent the U.S. in team competition will be determined after the completion of the Individual Grand Prix Tests on Wednesday, Sept. 4. All nominations to the U.S. Paralympic Team are subject to approval by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
