The U.S. Equestrian Federation announced the selection and application procedures for the 2012 Show Jumping European Young Rider Tour. The tour will also include spots for two junior riders.

The Show Jumping High Performance Committee will recommend up to five athlete/horse combinations plus a ranked list of alternates for the young rider squad. One position will be reserved for the highest placed young rider at the conclusion of the 2012 Artisan Farms Under 25 Young Rider Series in Wellington, Fla., provided the horse on which the athlete earned the most points in the series is available.

For the remaining young rider and junior positions, the committee will base their evaluations of athlete/horse combinations on:

1. Current ability to meet the standards of 2012 European CSIOY/CSIOJ competition

2. Overall performance and soundness in 2011 and 2012 at 1.45-meters or higher for the young riders and 1.40-meters or higher for the juniors
