USEF Announces Schedule For 2025 Horse Safety And Welfare Town Halls

The first town hall on horse welfare held June 11, at Split Rock Hunter Jumper Classic II (Kentucky), the U.S. Equestrian Federation is releasing the dates and locations of future town hall events focusing on equine safety and welfare. These discussions are designed to facilitate conversation between the federation and participants across breeds and sports as USEF considers how it can better support the well-being of our equine partners. 

These town halls are open to all and will include USEF staff panelists, as well as affiliate organization representatives when possible. 

The summer/fall schedule is as follows and will be updated throughout the year:  

  • July 17—HITS Hudson Valley IV (Saugerties, New York)
  • July 25—The Oaks (San Juan Capistrano, California)
  • Aug. 5—USEF Pony Finals (Lexington, Kentucky)
  • Aug. 22—U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions (Wayne, Illinois)
  • Sept. 8-13—Arabian Sport Horse Nationals (Wilmington, Ohio)
  • Sept. 10 or 11—The All-American Classic (Indianapolis)
  • Sept. 27—Oktoberfest at Stable View (Aiken, South Carolina)
  • Oct. 4-11—Morgan Grand Nationals (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)
  • Oct. 30—U.S. Dressage Finals (Wilmington)

Additional town halls will take place in December-February, with dates to be determined.

  • Desert International Horse Park (Thermal, California)
  • HITS Ocala (Ocala, Florida)
  • World Equestrian Center—Ocala (Ocala, Florida)
  • Winter Equestrian Festival (Wellington, Florida)

USEF and show management will provide further details on specific dates, times and locations within each show facility as they are finalized. The schedule will also be updated and available on the USEF website here. An online town hall will also take place prior to the end of the year for those who cannot attend one of our in-person events. You can also send your thoughts about the current state of welfare in horse sport, or any potential solutions to improve the sport for horses to feedback@usef.org.
