On April 6, officials at the U.S. Equestrian Federation announced the five riders who would be representing the United States in the first leg of the Samsung Super League Tour.
These riders will compete at CSIs in La Baule, France, May 10-14; Rome, Italy, May 24-27 and St. Gallen, Switzerland, May 31-June 3.
The riders include: Beezie Madden of Cazenovia, N.Y., on Integrity; Richard Spooner of Glendale, Calif., on Cristallo and Apache; Laura Kraut of Wellington, Fla., on Miss Independent; Todd Minikus of Loxahatchee, Fla., on Pavarotti and Lisa Silverman of New York, N.Y., on Obelix.

Alternates include: Georgina Bloomberg of North Salem, N.Y., on Cim Christo; Brianne Goutal of New York, N.Y., on Onira; Lauren Hough of Wellington, Fla., on Casadora and Molly Ashe of Wellington, Fla., on Cocu.
The selection for this first tour was based on the rider rankings on the March 30 USEF Computer List, as well as their availability.
