Rebecca Howard continues to slowly heal reported Sinead Halpin. She is experiencing the expected pain and discomfort from breaking multiple ribs and both collarbones in a fall at the Pine Top Horse Trials (Ga.), but she’s been able to leave her bed and traverse the hallways daily.
Howard is currently located in the trauma ward at the Carolinas Medical Center (N.C.). Her anesthesia team plans to remove her epidural today, March 5, but they may need to start another depending on her pain level.
Howard appreciates all the support and encouragement she has received. Her mother Mary wrote, “We returned to the [the hospital] with two full carts of flowers in tow. The staff could not believe this was all for a single individual!”
Continuing updates on Howard’s condition may be found on Sinead Halpin’s blog.
