United States Comes Close To Paralympic Medal

In a nail biting finish to the individual grade I dressage medal at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, U.S. rider, Keith Newerla came within 0.316 points of the individual bronze medal.

Riding his own horse, Lumberjack, Newerla scored a 69.68 percent at the Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Center, the same site used for the Olympic equestrian events in August.

Lee Pearson of Great Britain successfully defended his Paralympic title, earning his fourth individual gold medal. The British rider was second to go and took a commanding lead immediately, scoring a 77.26 percent on Blue Circle Boy.
