Ventipulmin is the only drug containing clenbuterol that\’s been approved for horses. Several horse owners in Louisiana learned this the hard way when their horses died after Clenbuterol HCL was administered to them. There is no generic drug containing clenbuterol that is approved for animals.
Ventipulmin, manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim, is used for managing horses affected by airway obstruction such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
