Two Diverse And Wonderful Places

This is the forest primeval; the murmuring pines and the hemlocks. . ." These words by Wordsworth immediately sprang to mind as I sat down in my comfortable judge's chair at the Lake Washington Saddle Club Horse Show in Kirkland, Wash.

Held at a facility where many "old-timers" got their start, in the lovely, historic Bridle Trails State Park, I felt so small and insignificant looking up at all the enormous fir trees that shaded out the sun, and covered the rustic, yet up-to-date, show place.

It's two minutes from the freeway, but light years away in time
