Well it’s currently 2:15 in Ohio, and Nate Chambers is driving the rig on our journey to Richland Park. The trip has been uneventful for us, but Boyd Martin and Lillian heard have not had quite the same luck.

Boyd likes to sleep in a swag (Aussie sleeping bag) in the bed of the truck while on the way to events. When he was laying it out, he rearranged the wheelbarrow in the bed. When turning, the wheelbarrow ended up pushing into his rear window and shattered it. Lillian, his trusty assistant, is now driving to Michigan without a back window. Quite noisy I guess. Boyd is currently sleeping.

On a more serious note, I got a call from the USEF yesterday, and I have recieved a training grant to further my education, which is exciting!!!! I also have gotten the opportunity to go to Burghley with Heather Morris, Andrea Leathermen and Lauren Kieffer. They wanted to send some developing riders over to gain some international experience and see what it’s like being in a team environment. I am thrilled to be offered this and have yet to talk to big Phil about it. I’m not sure I will be able to go yet because there’s a competition that weekend, and I have other barn responsibilities.

As the weekend unfolds I will let you all know. And if you’re currently driving to Richland, drive safe. Don’t rest your wheelbarrow between your trailer and back window.
