Tornado Delays Central American Games

A tornado struck the venue for the 21st Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, on Saturday, July 17, delaying the Games’ opening ceremony until Sunday.

Four people were injured. Two of the injured were hurt while trying to run from the tornado.

The Games’ equestrian competition is set to begin today, July 22, with dressage. Eventing will begin on Sunday, July 25, and show jumping will begin on Tuesday, July 27.
