Entries for this year’s Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L have gone live, and the top four riders in the FEI World Rankings—Oliver Townend, Ros Canter, Boyd Martin and Tom McEwen—are all currently on the entry list. A total of 47 horse-and-rider combinations are slated to compete in the competition, scheduled to be held April 24-28 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Last year’s winners Tamie Smith and Mai Baum will not be defending their title. Instead they’re entered in the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S, which includes a number of five-star regulars this year.

Several pairs are also cross-entered in the Badminton CCI5*-L, taking place May 8-12 in England. They are Townend (Cooley Rosalent), Grace Taylor (Game Changer), Meghan O’Donoghue (Palm Crescent), Martin (Tsetserleg TSF and On Cue), Kirsty Chabert (Classic VI), Canter (Izilot DHI) and Jessica Phoenix (Wabbit).
