For the second week in a row, Laura Jane Tidball scored the bonus money in the SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion during the Western Family competition held at Thunderbird Show Park in Langley, British Columbia.

Hot off her win in the $5,000 Cobblestone Derby on Saturday, June 30, Tidball returned to the grass grand prix field to score yet another victory, this time in the $1,500 Canadian Hunter Derby on July 7.  And just as she had done one week earlier, Tidball wore her SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves to earn a bonus of $500 from Canadian manufacturer, SSG Riding Gloves.

“I don’t ride in anything else,” said Tidball of Langley, BC.  “I love the breathability of the SSG ‘Digital’ gloves, and they have great grip.  I recommend them to everyone!”

The victory marked Tidball’s second in a row with Yesquero, a 12-year-old Argentinean Warmblood usually shown by her uncle, Brent Balisky.  As Balisky was at Spruce Meadows helping 2012 Canadian Olympic Team members Tiffany Foster and Eric Lamaze prepare for London, the reins were passed to Tidball.  With two wins in a row, she did her uncle proud!

Chelsea McNeill, also of Langley, British Columbia, emerged triumphant in the $10,000 Maui Jim Grand Prix held Sunday, July 8.  One week earlier, McNeill and her mount, Phlush, had placed third in the $10,000 Super Save Grand Prix and her father, Fred, learned of the $1,000 bonus offered as part of the SSG “Go Clean for the Green” promotion.  In an effort to ensure she was eligible for the bonus money in the $10,000 Maui Jim Grand Prix, he promptly bought his daughter a pair of SSG ‘Digitals’.  As a result, McNeill not only won the competition, but also a $1,000 bonus from SSG Riding Gloves.

“I think it is an amazing program since it rewards the rider,” said McNeill, who has only been riding Phlush, a nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood owned by Georgann Gregory, for two months.  “My new ‘Digitals’ have a better grip than my previous gloves, and I am very impressed with their performance.  Now I just have to pay my dad back for buying the gloves for me!”

2012 marks the second year in a row that SSG Riding Gloves has offered $9,000 in bonus money through its ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion to riders competing at Thunderbird Show Park.  In an incentive program designed to reward competitors for their loyalty to the SSG Riding Gloves brand, SSG will offer a bonus of $1,000 to the winning rider in designated grand prix events if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves with the horse head logo clearly visible.  If the winning rider is not wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves, the bonus money is carried forward to the next event, increasing from $1,000 to $2,000, etc.  The same format applies to designated hunter events, where a $500 bonus is on offer.

The following events are still to come in the 2012 SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion at Thunderbird Show Park:

CSI** & WCHR Fort Summer Classic – August 15 – 19

$50,000 Dianne Tidball Legacy Grand Prix
