• Steve Guerdat and Bianca, Elias Stud Farm and Hannah Robinson-Mytilneou’s 12-year-old Swedish Warmblood mare, or Hannah, Jose Pablo Salgado’s 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare

• Janika Sprunger and Bacardi VDL, Dufour Stables AG and George Kähny’s 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion

The reserve rider is Arthur Gustavo da Silva and Inonstop Van T Voorhof, Myriam Huyghebaert’s 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion.

“Unfortunately, the yield of the Swiss show jumpers at the World Championships is poor,” said team manager Andy Kistler. “Only a team bronze medal was brought home from the World Equestrian Games WEG 1994 at The Hague (the Netherlands). I consider it a good omen that this was achieved by a team that also included Thomas Fuchs, who will travel as a coach to the United States. But first and foremost, we have a strong team with great horses at the start. We want to fight for the medals in the team as well as in the individual standings and, above all, secure the qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games early. This requires at least a classification of the team in the first six.”
