Sweden’s top dressage rider Patrik Kittel withdrew his horse Well Done De La Roche CMF from the Tokyo Olympic Games on July 22 after the 13-year-old Swiss Warmblood mare (Furstentraum—Washari, Walt Disney) sustained an injury training at the Olympic venue.

“To my sadness, Well Done tripped in yesterday’s training, a small injury prevents us [from competing] in Tokyo 2020 Olympics,” he said in a handwritten note posted to social media. “As I am broken to the core, Welly will always come first. I will support my students and team friends, in the honor to represent Sweden.”

The traveling reserve, Antonia Ramel and Brother De Jeu will now join Juliette Ramel (Buriel KH) and Therese Nilshagen (Dante Weltino) on the team.

This will be the first Olympics for Antonia, who was part of the 2019 FEI European Championships (the Netherlands) with Brother De Jeu.
