Steffen Peters And Ravel Win Grand Prix At Aachen World Equestrian Festival

Steffen Peters and Ravel—the 2009 Rolex FEI World Cup champions—served notice that they will continue to dominate the dressage world today, July 2, at the World Equestrian Festival CHIO Aachen in Germany.
 
At one of the most prestigious venues, Peters and Akiko Yamazaki’s 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding put in an amazing test, scoring 77.83 percent in the Grand Prix against many of the best horses and riders in the world.

Steffen Peters and Ravel—the 2009 Rolex FEI World Cup champions—served notice that they will continue to dominate the dressage world today, July 2, at the World Equestrian Festival CHIO Aachen in Germany.
 
At one of the most prestigious venues, Peters and Akiko Yamazaki’s 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding put in an amazing test, scoring 77.83 percent in the Grand Prix against many of the best horses and riders in the world.
 
Five judges unanimously placed the pair first, and their average was more than 5 points better than the second-placed finisher, Hans Peter Minderhoud and Exquis Nadine. Among those left in their wake were 2008 Olympic gold medalists Anky van Grunsven and IPS Salinero, who finished fifth on a score of 71.36 percent.
 
The pair will aim for a sweep of CDIO Aachen on Friday night in the Grand Prix Special and Sunday in the Freestyle. For complete results, please visit www.chioaachen.com.
