They went on to win three consecutive grand prix events at the 2009 Winter Equestrian Festival (Fla.): the $150,000 CN CSIO Grand Prix, the $200,000 FEI World Cup Grand Prix CSI**** and the $400,000 FTI Consulting CSI***** Grand Prix. In addition, the pair finished second at the 2009 FEI Rolex World Cup Finals in Las Vegas, Nev., and won the FTI $250,000 Grand Prix for a record fourth time at the 2009 Hampton Classic (N.Y.). Also in 2009, Ward and Sapphire won the $974,564 CN International Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada.
