Ocala, FL (September 1, 2011) – The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center is pleased to announce their sponsorship of dressage rider Stacy Parvey-Larsson of Hidden Acres Dressage in Reddick, Florida. Parvey-Larsson is an accomplished dressage rider who trained at the prestigious Hilltop Farm for five years where she was also a working student under the tutelage of Scott Hassler. She has also attended the International Academy for Equestrian Studies in Warendorf, Germany.
“Over the past couple of years, I have received horses in training that due to previous injuries were in rehab at The Sanctuary. All of these horses were able to make a full recovery and continue their careers in dressage,” Parvey-Larsson said. “That is just one of the many reasons that I am thrilled to be sponsored by The Sanctuary. I also know they will aid me in the training and conditioning of my top competition horses. I am impressed with The Sanctuary’s knowledgeable and professional staff and, most of all, with their therapeutic equipment.”
Located on 30 acres in Ocala, The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center is a multi-million dollar facility dedicated to the healing, conditioning and well being of all equine athletes. “I believe that the water treadmill at The Sanctuary was a huge help for some of the horses I have worked with who went through rehab at The Sanctuary,” said Parvey-Larsson. “I currently use the magnawave therapy to give my competition horses a full body massage. I am very impressed with how relaxed my horse looks during and after treatment.”
Parvey-Larsson has a lengthy and winning resume, including riding her Hanoverian stallion Benidetto to the Reserve Championship in 2010 at the Markel/USEF FEI Young Horse Championships. A Bronze and Silver medalist, Parvey-Larsson also qualified her three- year-old filly Hallelujah for Dressage at Devon and rode to victory two years in a row in Materiale for three-year-old fillies and Materiale for four to five-year-olds. Hallelujah was named the 2005 Horse of the Year for Materiale three-year-old fillies and 2005 Oldenburg Horse of the Year.
“My goal now is to compete Benidetto in the Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I in Wellington in 2012 and continue his training to the Grand Prix level,” Parvey-Larsson said. “I also plan to compete and qualify Pikk Dynamic, a 2007 Hanoverian stallion owned by Horses Unlimited, for the FEI Five-Year-Old National Championships. I am sure with the help of The Sanctuary, I will be able to keep all of my horses competing at their peak.”

Brenda McDuffee, General Manager of The Sanctuary, said they are pleased to join Parvey-Larsson’s team of sponsors. “Stacy is a talented and dedicated rider and she recently competed her stallion Benidetto at the Developing Horse National Championships. We want to congratulate her on that accomplishment and we look forward to being part of all her success in the future,” McDuffee said. “The Sanctuary is the perfect place for Stacy to condition and rehab her horses as we offer the latest in technological equipment designed to promote safe and rapid advancement for horses recovering from injury or in need of training.”
The Sanctuary has also opened a new state-of-the-art facility in Wellington, Florida, The Sanctuary at PBIEC, which was built in conjunction with the Wellington Equestrian Partners. Just like their Ocala facility, it is the most advanced facility of its kind in the world. “All of the therapies used at The Sanctuary are based on methods used for human rehabilitation and conditioning,” McDuffee said.
The Sanctuary in Ocala is home to an equine hyperbaric chamber; an Aqua Pacer water treadmill; a cold saltwater leg spa; an equine swimming pool – a 110 foot long, 14 foot deep inline pool with therapeutic water; a 5/8 mile race track; two Eurocisers with therapeutic tracking surface – one under cover and one outdoors; solariums; and a temperature-controlled veterinary inspection area with semi-surgical lighting.
