“The care and management of the geriatric horse will be a program that owners of older horses must go to.  It will be filled with useful cutting edge information from leaders in these fields.” says Dr. Carey Williams, extension equine specialist and Associate Director of Extension for the Equine Science Center.  “Our goal in presenting this workshop is to provide unbiased scientific information that will be beneficial to older horses and their owners.”

Williams has assembled presenters who are recognized as experts in their field to offer personal insight and perspectives.  Topics will include: an overview of physiology of the old horse; nutrition of the geriatric horse; proper testing for various metabolic diseases associated with old age in the horse; orthopedic problems in the old horse and, a panel with the presenters will round up the days conference and give attendees to ask any questions they have regarding their ‘geriatric horse’.
